Disclosures by Program
Purpose
This page helps connect prospective students, applicants, and current students to professional licensure information. The U.S. Department of Education Code of Federal Regulations CFR §668.43 requires colleges and universities to communicate publicly and directly to prospective and current students if programs leading to a license or certification meet other state's requirements.
UNM strives to stay informed about the current state requirements for certification or licensure as these are subject to change. Since only state agencies have the authority to determine if an academic program satisfies the criteria for certification or licensure, UNM cannot assure the attainment of any certificate or license for an individual.
To view UNM’s Professional Licensure Disclosures for each program and state, review the table list below. Clicking on a program’s link will provide summary information about Professional Licensure requirements for the program, links to the program’s webpage where you will find additional information about the preparation provided by the program, links to applicable licensing boards and the following specific disclosures for each state as it applies to the selected program:
- The program meets educational requirements for licensure.
- The program does not meet educational requirements for licensure.
- The institution has not determined whether the program meets educational requirements for licensure.
For those purposes states include the District of Columbia and the U.S. protectorates, as defined in 34 CFR §600.2
The program webpage also has contact information for program personnel that can help answer specific questions in this regard and who will do their best to help connect you to the credentialing requirements of the state in which you aspire to practice.
Programs Not Listed - This page only lists programs identified as fulfilling the educational requirements for professional licensure. If you have questions regarding any program not listed on the Professional Licensure page, please contact the Chair of the Department within which the program resides.

These disclosures are provided to ensure that any student pursuing a degree or certificate that leads to a profession that requires professional licensure is aware of whether UNM’s programs meet the educational requirements for licensure in states other than New Mexico. New Mexico’s licensing or certification requirements may not be adequate to obtain a professional license in other states, and all states can periodically change their licensure requirements.
Below are professional licensure disclosures for UNM degree programs leading to a license.
